Confirming the incident in a chat, one of the community leaders and Olokelede of Ekan Ikare, Olatunbosun Ayinde, blamed the driver of the vehicle for being impatient.
While sympathising with the families of the victims, Ayinde cautioned the youths to always organise themselves properly while celebrating any public event.
He urged them to always contact men of the Nigeria Police and Federal Road Safety Corps (NYSC) for security and traffic control.
The Unit Commander of the FRSC in Ikare, Ropo Alabi, told our reporter that those injured in the accident were rushed to the hospital, attributing the accident to over-speeding.
