Driver convicted for trying to bribe FRSC officers

Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) mobile court has convicted a 36-year-old man for trying to bribe marshals on duty in Nteje, Oyi Local Government Area of Anambra State.

The accused, John Okwuosa, a truck driver, was also convicted over driver’s license violation and overloading.

The Prosecutor and FRSC Sector Legal Officer, Uzoma Enwereuzo, told the court that the accused, whose driver’s license had long expired had offered the officers on duty the sum of N1000 in order to evade arrest.

When the three count charges were read to the accused, he pleaded guilty and was given a fine of N22,000 by the Presiding Magistrate, Mike Anyadiegwu.
