A driver and his conductor were burnt to death on Wednesday after a bus went up in flames near Kwali on the Abuja-Lokoja highway.
Witnesses told our reporter that the J5 bus, which was coming from the East to Abuja, entered a pothole around 4am and veered off the road, hitting a petrol tanker parked by the road.

A witness further said, “Thereafter, the bus went up in flames with both the driver and the conductor trapped. They were burnt beyond recognition.”
Our reporter saw two burnt corpses being conveyed by the police, while sympathisers looked on.
The spokesperson of the FCT police command, DSP Adeh Josephine, did not pick calls put across to her on the incident.
