Driver arraigned for ‘burning’ N.9m jallabiyya

The Kwara State Police Command has arraigned one Isiaq Ismail, a driver and resident of Amoyo, for allegedly burning N930,000 worth of jallabiyya (female gowns) he was supposed to deliver to a customer in Ilorin.

According to the Police First Information Report (FIR), the suspect, was contracted by Isiaq Muhammed of Agbaji area, to deliver the clothes to the complainant, Mariam Abdullahi, in Ilorin.

“Muhammed contracted and gave you bundles of jallabiyya worth N4.5m to deliver to the complainant.

“But you negligently failed to guard against probable danger to the said clothes and caused some of them valued at N930,000 to be mischievously burnt while on transit from Abuja to Ilorin.

Magistrate Abdulkadir granted the accused bail and adjourned the matter to May 24, 2023 for hearing.
