A driver, Adamu Salihu, and four passengers have been abducted near Ukya-Tsoho village, Kuje Area Council of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
Another driver, who escaped the attack, said the incident happened at 6:32pm on Wednesday.
He said he was driving behind Volkswagen Golf with registration number NTT 623 XC which carried four passengers from Abaji town heading for Toto, when the abductors emerged from the bush and shot at the vehicle.
He said the abductors opened fire and deflated the front tyres of the golf car which made the driver lose control of his steering and veer off the road. They then immediately took the travellers and the driver into the bush.
A family member of one of the abducted victims, Suleiman Ibrahim, said the two among the victims were returning from Abaji to Toto in a commercial vehicle when they were abducted.
“But up to this moment I am talking to you, the kidnappers have not called, and none of the victims’ phones is connecting,” he said.
The spokesperson of the FCT Police Command, DSP Adeh Josephine, asked our reporter to give her time to enquire about the incident.
