Drama as security officers bundle ‘Obidient’ out of Lagos-bound plane

There was a mild drama at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport on Friday evening when a supporter of Peter Obi, the Presidential Candidate oofthe Labour party (LP), was carried off a flight travelling to Lagos from Abuja.

The unidentified lone protester was said to have announced that the President-elect, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, must never be sworn in as President.

Daily Trust reports that Tinubu, the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), was declared winner of the 2023 presidential election, and will be sworn in as President on May 29.

Tinubu secured 8,794,726 votes to defeat Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) who polled 6,984,520 votes, and Obi who had 6,101,533 votes in the election held on February 25.

In a video shared widely on Friday, the middle aged man could be heard shouting as he was being bundled out.

“Obidients you’re here. They are doing this to me. Obidients you’re here, I am naked. Obidients you’re here, I am going naked,” he said.

It took the efforts of no fewer than six airport security officers to evacuate him after he reportedly delayed the aircraft for more than an hour, as the 6pm flight had yet to take off as of 7pm.
