Drama as police narrate how dad slept with 2 daughters

A drama played out at an Ogba magistrates’ court, Lagos, when the police narrated how a 58-year-old man, Shola Jolaosho, had been having sexual intercourse with two of his daughters aged nine and 13.

The police said the accused, who is the biological father of the girls, started sleeping with them in the last two years and blamed his actions on the devil when the bubble burst.

The prosecutor said, “My lord, since the accused has admitted that it was the handiwork of the devil that led him into the act, it then means that he has been working for the devil on part time bases; send him to jail so that his work with the devil becomes full time employment.”

It was learnt that the accused who resides on Fadare Street, Ogba, Lagos, seized the opportunity created by the absence of his wife to defile his daughters.

The police said the accused, on each occasion, threatened to deal with the girls if they revealed their ordeal to anyone, including their mother.

But that the older one opened up to their mother when she could no longer bear the pain, which consequently led to the arrest of the accused. The police further told the court that at first the accused denied having any sexual intercourse with his children, but that he broke down in tears when he was made to face his 13-year-old daughter.

The court did not take the plea of the accused following a motion by the prosecutor, Lucky Ihiehie, asking the court to refer the matter to the Department of Public Prosecution (DPP).

The Magistrate, Mrs O. A. Layinka, ordered the defendant to be remanded and adjourned the case pending the advice from DPP.
