Dr. Azeez Wahab Ademola has assumed office as the new Provost of Federal College of Education (Technical), Akoka in Lagos.
Dr. Ademola who emerged the 12th Provost of the College was presented to the staff of the institution by the Governing Council led by its chairman, Honourable Obioma Iheanacho. The Council chair tasked the new Provost on constant dialogue with the College community while he appealed to both staff and students to cooperate and support him.
“The choice of Dr. Ademola was in fulfilment of the yearnings of the College workers to have an in-house person as their Provost. As such, the Governing Council was well guided in the course of the screening exercise. So, this is the beginning of a new era as the old times have gone. Come with a new mind to work with the Provost to enable him succeed,” he said while he charged the College leadership to serve and impact positively on the people and leave behind good legacies.
While Iheanacho commended the cordial relationship between the College management and the various Unions, he urged all staff to be punctual at work at all time. “We will continue to improve your welfare but give us your quality time. If you continue to be absent from duty, we will react negatively,” he threatened.
The new Provost who until his appointment was a Chief Lecturer in the Fine and Applied Arts Department promised that his administration will make sure that all sectors of the College are taken care of. “I am now the Chief servant of the College, I will not deny anyone his/her right. Challenge me when i am going wrong as I am ready to accept positive ideas,” he assured.
Dr. Ademola who was described by the members of staff as an activist and welfarist was recently honoured by Afrikanwatch in recognition of his strategic contributions to technical education and research.
