The Bayelsa Political Watch has condemned the spate of politically motivated killings in certain parts of the state ahead of the November 11 governorship election in the state.
In a statement, the group’s coordinator, Nadione Harrison, urged politicians to appeal to voters through intensified political campaigns.
He also called on the candidates to ensure that Bayelsa citizens were not murdered because of the desperation for political power.
Harrison said, “As the governorship election in Bayelsa draws closer, we find it necessary to call on the security agencies and the Independent National Electoral Commission to focus special attention on violence prone areas in the state.
