Governor Mohammed Abubakar of Bauchi State has advised Christian pilgrims going to Israel from the state against absconding.
Addressing the pilgrims who were on a farewell visit to him at the Government House, the governor said it would be wrong for any of the pilgrims to seek to remain in the holy land or go elsewhere for any reason.“You go not only for yourselves but as ambassadors of our dear state. It is our expectation that you will serve as respected citizens of Bauchi state and Nigeria. Your journey to the holy land is sacred,” he told them.
Speaking, Chairman, Bauchi State Christian Pilgrims Welfare Board, Engineer Daniel Shawulu, appealed to the governor to provide the board with a permanent office complex.
