A one-time Dean of Faculty of Engineering, Federal Polytechnic, Bauchi, Engineer Ahmed Yusuf, has advised the Bauchi State Government led by Senator Bala Mohammed, to trade with caution as they work towards resolving the lingering crises over the creation of new Sayawa Chiefdom in Tafawa Balewa LGA.
Engineer Yusuf, who is the head of the electrical/ electronic department in the Polytechnic, gave the advice during an interaction with City News.
He said: “There are allegations going round that the state government is planning to create Sayawa chiefdom in Tafawa Balewa LGA.
‘It was alleged that a key government functionary pronounced it at the Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP) stakeholders meeting.
“If it is true, we would like to appeal to the governor to allow all stakeholders in the area to express their feelings and their stand through the committee he set up under the credible leadership of Ambassador Chinade to look into the history and previous reports and recommendations of the past investigation committees set up by past administrations that investigated the crises in the area,’’ he said.
He reminded the government that there was pending case lingering for nine years in the court over the status of the Tafawa Balewa town.
