It was gathered that on October 15, there was a fire incident at their home in Lekki, however, Abimbola was caught in the inferno. She was later rushed to the hospital where she was pronounced dead.

The state Police Public Relations Officer, Benjamin Hundeyin, disclosed that the suspect had been arrested and transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department, Yaba on Saturday.

IVD who had reacted to several claims of him being an abusive husband, posted a series of videos, alleging that his wife Abimbola was violent to him and had destroyed his property.

In one of the videos, IVD was seen pointing at his bleeding head, saying “See what she did to me? She just hit me right now. This is me bleeding. I won’t take this.”

A second video indicated his damaged car while Abimbola was heard tossing abuses at him in the background

IVD wrote, “My greatest hurts will be at my funeral, everyone will be like, Bimbo was such a fantastic human, a clown, she’s that one person you had on your SOS call, she had the biggest heart, very smart, she looked out for her family. Bobby yen yen yen, my corpse will wake up and shout ‘Shut up all of you and put me inside the ground let me be with the lord’.”(sic)

Meanwhile, in counterclaims, the family of the deceased accused the auto dealer of being a wife-beater. Taking to their various social media accounts, siblings of Abimbola, claimed that the car dealer was a drug addict, moreso, they levelled various accusations against him.

Ikechukwu and Abimbola had been married for 16 years, with a union blessed with five kids.
