Nigerian singer and songwriter, Simisola Bolatito Kosoko also known as Simi, has called on churches and Christian platforms to do better when it has to do with people seeking for help.
Simi took to her social media page to react to the case of the gospel singer, Osinachi Nwachukwu, who passed away over the weekend as a result of alleged domestic violence.

Based on some conversations by the deceased friends and colleagues, screenshots, and live videos that surfaced online after Osinachi’s death it was alleged that the singer refused to leave her abusive husband because of ‘what the church would say afterwards’.
The ‘Duduke’ crooner shared a video to urge churches to do better and help their people.
She said, “The church needs to start letting people know that it is okay to speak out when they are going through something, ask for help when they need help. You’re not any less of a Christian or born again if you’re going through something and you speak out.
She added, “People are going through domestic violence, depression, abuse of whatever kind, they are just suffering from some kind of mental illness and they are not getting any help, they are not doing therapy, they are not talking to anyone because ‘if you have Christ or the Holy Spirit in you, you should not be going through this’, just pray.
“Too many Christians are suffering, we need to start doing better as Christians. People with platforms especially very popular Christian platforms need to start using and advocating for people that need help. It is very important because it is so sad to see that there are so many people suffering in silence and they don’t have anywhere to turn to for help.”
