Mohammed Yakubu Dogara has been elected chairman of the PDP of the FCT at the party’s delegates’ state congress.
Dogara, a former Kuje Area Council chapter chairman of PDP, emerged through affirmation during the congress which was held at the Apo Town Hall in Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC) on Saturday and monitored by the officials of INEC led by the Resident Electoral Commissioner, Mahmud Isah, and presided over by the electoral committee chairman of the congress, Mohammed Abubakar Sadiq, and monitored security agencies.
The other elected state PDP executives that emerged through affirmation are Mohammed Babaji Madaki (deputy chairman), Mahmud Mohammed (vice chairman I), Adamu Aliyu (vice chairman (III), Rabo Lucky Iyah (secretary), Samuel Danjuma Shekwolo (organising secretary), Alhaji Idris Gana (treasurer).
Others are Mohammed Aruwa Dafa (financial secretary), Josephine Splendor (publicity secretary), Emmanuel Amen (assistant youth leader), Baba Danjuma (assistant secretary I), Rabiu Mohammed (assistant auditor), Abdullahi Mohammed Haruna (assistant publicity secretary), Mrs Abigel Etsu Kwali (assistant women leader), Abdullahi Abdulsalam (assistant organising secretary I) Hajiya Maryam Abubakar (ex-officio), among others.

In his speech, the leader of the PDP in the FCT, Senator Philip Aduda, while congratulating the new executives, said that the congress marked a new dawn for the party in the territory.
In his acceptance speech, the new FCT PDP Chairman, Alhaji Dogara, assured that the PDP under his leadership would ensure it united all its members and supporters across the six area councils and continued to wax stronger ahead of the party’s victory in the 2027 general elections.
