Doctor, others charged with murder, selling human parts

The police in Kwara State have arraigned Doctor Abbas Adio, a former Chief Medical Director (CMD) of the Kaima General Hospital, alongside Yahi Danladi, Ibrahim Hassan and Fatima Adisa Olatanwa, for allegedly killing one Olanipekun Ifeoluwa Ibukun, dumping her body in the bush and selling her Toyota Camry valued at N1.4 million.

The defendants were charged with culpable homicide, kidnapping, buying, selling and trafficking human parts.

The First Information Report (FIR) read that the defendants killed their victim by hitting her with an object on the head before dumping her corpse in a bush in the Alapa area in Asa LGA.

The police said that the doctor confessed during investigation that “he sedated and killed a casual worker in the hospital, Nafisat Halidu, and kept her body in a waste bin before pouring concrete cement on her to conceal the act.

“He further confessed to be instrumental to the death of several other persons, including Abubakar, whom he buried in a shallow grave at his store in the hospital, and one Abdul Azeez Saliu whom he sedated and sold off.”

The Magistrate, Muhammed Ibrahim, ordered the remand of the defendants and adjourned the case to July 20, 2023.
