The District Head of Kunchi Local Government Area of Kano State, Alhaji Ali Ado Bayero, has called on relevant authorities to come to the rescue of the healthcare facilities in the LGA, which have been neglected for many years.
The plea was made when the representatives of the district head led the delegation of development Research and Project Centre (dRPC) – Partnership for Advocacy in Child and Family Health at Scale Project, to an assessment tour of the three health facilities at Yandadi, Kunchi and Kasuwar Kuka in the area.
Daily Trust observed that aside from the absence of any general hospital in the area, most of the health facilities in the LGA, which are all primary health centres, suffer from a shortage of staff among other issues.
According to the representatives of the district head, the residents of the area are mostly referred to the neighbouring facilities in Bichi or even Kazaure in the nearby Jigawa State.
