The Ogun State Governor, Dapo Abiodun, yesterday, urged other ethnic groups living in the state, especially the Igbo, to disregard the 48-hour quit notice given by the Young Yoruba for Freedom (YYF) group.

The YYF, led by one Adeyinka Grandson, had in a video clip circulating on social media, issued a 48-hour ultimatum to the Igbo living in the South West states to leave the zone.

Reacting to the video, the governor on Sunday described the pronouncement as “unfortunate, provocative, reckless and irresponsible,” and assured all residents of their safety irrespective of their state of origin or nationality.

“These unpatriotic individuals do not represent the views of the Yoruba race that is reputed to be accommodating, tolerant and hospitable. They are definitely not speaking for the Yoruba and the good people of Ogun state,” the governor said.
