The Emir of Katsina, Alhaji Abdulmumuni Kabir Usman, has accused politicians and some prominent Nigerians as being behind the current hate speech by various youth groups which are further polarising the country along religious and ethnic divides.
Speaking when he received members of the Awareness for Good Leadership, Peace and Development in his palace yesterday, Usman advised such persons to desist from such acts for the overall well-being of the country.
He assured that the emirate would continue to use its influence to protect all citizens of Nigeria residing in his domain, and assured all to feel free and live in peace with everyone in the state just as he appealed to the youths to be their brothers’ keepers and shun misleading advice of the disgruntled politicians.
Earlier, the leader of the delegation, Abdullahi Aliyu, said they were in the palace to solicit and blessings of the emir towards ensuring peaceful coexistence in the country.
