Disengaged PHCN staff protest non payment of benefits in Bauchi

Disengaged staff of the defunct Power Holding Company of Nigeria are currently holding a protest in Bauchi over non payment of their entitlements.

The protester, under the aegis of Disengaged PHCN Staff Forum, lamented that since their disengagement after the privatisation of PHCN, they had not been paid their entitlements.

The protesters, who carried placards with different inscriptions, lamented that despite their sufferings and pleadings, their case had not been looked into.

Speaking to journalists during the protest, chairman of the Forum, Lawal Abdu Magini said that most of the disengaged staff were finding it hard to feed their families.

According to him, some members of the Forum had not received any money since their disengagement while others were receiving less than N10,000 as Pension.

He called on the Federal Government to look into their plights in order to save them and their families from further hardship.
