The Nigerian Electricity Distribution Commission (NERC) has said the 11 electricity distribution companies realised N95.26bn as revenue in February of 2024.

NERC, in the Commercial Performance of Distribution Companies (DisCos) for February, posted on its X account yesterday, said the sum was 72.76 per cent collection rate from N130.92bn that was billed to customers.

It noted that the revenue was from the 2,577.60 gigawatt-hour (GWh) of electricity that it received from electricity generation companies but the amount billed was for 2,072.01GWh.

Giving a breakdown of the revenue collected by each DisCos, it said Ikeja DisCo made the highest collection of N19.58bn from the N17.08bn charged to its customers followed by Abuja DisCo which collected N16.28bn from the N18.66bn bills it sent out.

Next is Eko DisCo which received N15.71bn from N15.83bn, followed by Ibadan DisCo which collected N10.26bn from N14.03bn issued out.

Others include Benin DisCo collecting N7.31bn from N8.82bn; Enugu DisCo, which received N6.95bn from N8.15bn; Port Harcourt DisCo got N6.52bn from N8.50bn it sent out; and Jos DisCo that received N4N4.88 from N6.68bn.

While Kano DisCo Kano collected N4.35bn from the N6.90bm bill sent out, Kaduna DisCo received N3.16b from N4.31bn it sent out, and Yola DisCo collected N1.95bn from N4.04bn.
