Polo Royals reports that after a week of bumper polo actions pitting top teams with all the big names in the noble game of kings and professionals from Europe, the President of Port Harcourt Polo Club emerged the first winner leading his Elshcon team to clinch the Rowland Cookey-Gam Cup.
Reputed as the biggest sporting festival in the oil rich Niger Delta region, the polo fiesta lived up to its thrills and excitements, with the duo of Lagos Awolowo team and their Lagos Ikoyi counterparts winning the glittering OB Lulu Briggs Cup and the highly revered T.Y Danjuma Cup respectively.
The Murtala Laushi mounted team overwhelmed their low flying Wilten Aviation opponents to cart home the royal crown and added the Governor’s Cup as Access Bank team in a show of supremacy in the final game of the tournament.
