Bayelsa State House of Assembly, yesterday, screened and confirmed the 24 commissioner-nominees sent to it by the state governor, Senator Douye Diri.
Diri had last Thursday forwarded the names of the nominees to the parliament for screening and confirmation.
The former legislators in the list were asked to take a bow and go in consonance with the legislative culture, while others were asked few questions before confirmation.
The exercise, which lasted for about four hours, had nominees sharing their professional experiences, competence and capacity to serve the state.
Speaker Abraham Ngobere, while announcing the confirmation of the nominees, said the purpose of the screening was to legitimise the commissioner-nominees appointments as enshrined in the constitution.
