Mrs Saratu who disclosed this in an interactive session with the reporters yesterday said the issues being canvassed by the union do not warrant picketing but that the union has chosen to clock behind the real reasons  for their agitations.
She said: “we did an audit which revealed a lot of mismanagement that has happened over time and some of these people are active players in what has gone wrong and that is why they hide under  minor excuses to instigate trouble.
“The audit revealed that the way the finances of the commission were handled over time was in the most uncorrupt manner”.
Operations at the head office of the Nigerian Investment Promotion Commission remained grounded for the second day running as the NIPC staff union and the  Executive Secretary, Mrs Saratu Umar failed to rectify  a resolutions reached at a meeting with the union members.
Staff of the commission were seen loitering around the entrance of the commission between the official time of resumption, 8 am to 4 pm carrying placards demanding for the removal of the NIPC boss
Our Reporter gathered that trouble started when after agreeing on a number of resolutions including; withdrawing the alledged  query to 50 staff, the compulsory dress code and jogging exercise for staff, the Executive Secretary was said to have altered the draft resolution on three occasions which did not go down well with the union executives
Mrs Saratu in her explanations said: “some of the resolutions reached were not explicitly written and I demanded that the ambiguity  should  be clearly re-written and they said their leaders from the National level have left, my understanding is that  work will resume proper  yesterday, while these minor details are soughted out but the union decided to seat out the second day running instead”
She denied restricting access to directors of the NIPC and informed the reporters that the case of the two directors whose renewal of appointment is still pending is outside her capacity to address.
