Dike, whose goal after just 18 seconds is the fastest ever in the competition’s history, was delighted with her effort.
“Honestly, it was so quick that I just remembered receiving the ball and just seeing the corner of the goal, so I decided to hit it,” Dike said after the game.

The Oklahoma State University undergraduate was also optimistic of the Falconets’ chances in other games.
“If we play our next match as we played today [Saturday] I’m sure we will be successful. This goal is a boost to me and I will continue to work hard for my country.”

Iheuzo, who had a hand in the opening goal before adding her name to the scoresheet in the latter stages of the second half, was equally elated with her goal.
“I am so happy to have continued with my goalscoring skills. While playing for U-17 women team in 2014 I was the highest scorer with eight goals, so to still be able to score now is a thing of joy,” Iheuzo said.
