DIG, 12 top police officers for Ondo polls

The Deputy Inspector-General of Police in charge of Research and Planning, Adeleye Oyagbade, has been deployed by the Inspector General of Police, Mohammed Adamu to coordinate security architecture for the Ondo State governorship election.

The election is billed to hold on Saturday, October 10.

The force spokesman, DCP Frank Mba in a statement on Friday said the Assistant Inspector-General of Police in charge of Federal Operations, Department of Operations, Force Headquarters, Abuja Karma Hassan and 11 Commissioners of Police (CP) would also work with the DIG during the election.

He urged the politicians and the public to cooperate with the police and other security agencies, adding that officers and men of the force as well as personnel of other security agencies deployed for the election have also been charged by the IG to conduct themselves professionally and work in line with best practices as highlighted in the Code of Conduct and Rules of Engagement for elections.

Among the CPs for the election are Evelyn Peterside, Abiodun Alabi, Audu Madaki and Bishi Omololu.

Others are Garba Umar, Ashafa Kunle, Akeera Yonous, Buba Sanusi, Sadiku Gbenga, Abutu Yaro and Habu Sani.
