Governors in the South South geo-political zone have appointed Governor Seriake Dickson of Bayelsa State as chairman of their forum.
The appointment was made after a meeting between South South governors and their South East counterparts last Sunday, in Enugu.
A statement, yesterday, by Dickson’s Special Adviser on Media Relations, Francis Agbo, said the appointment was aimed at having an arrow head in a bid to repositioning the zone and addressing its challenges.
He explained that governors from the two regions resolved to pursue inter-regional cooperation and integration in order to enhance the economic fortunes of their regions.
According to the statement, the meeting also endorsed Governor Emmanuel Udom of Akwa Ibom State as the interim Chairman of the South East and South South Governors Forum.
