Diaspora Nigerians want to vote in elections

Chairman, Ghana Chapter of the Transformation Ambassadors of Nigeria (TAN), Prince Emmanuel Okeson, who made this call while speaking to newsmen in Abuja.
He said the group will lobby for the inclusion of other Nigerians outside the country to participate in voting exercise during the 2015 elections.
Okeson said an estimated three million Nigerians are said to be resident in Ghana and that cutting out this huge number of Nigerians from voting is unfair.
“I know a fundamental question that may be agitating our minds is how those of us in Diaspora are going to vote? At the level of TAN and I am sure others are also presenting that proposal, we want to seek the possibility of making our people to vote in their various countries,” he said.
He added that it is the hope of the group that this is made possible before the end of this year and that the biometric advancement made in the renewal of international travelling document could be replicated for the elections.
“Today some of us do not need to travel to Nigeria to either obtain or renew our international passport, it has gone biometric and with the level of technology we can say that Nigeria will surely achieve that,” he said.
