The National Agency for Science and Engineering Infrastructure (NASENI) has said the approval by President Muhammadu Buhari for its statutory fund and development centres across states will drive Nigeria’s infrastructure growth.
The Executive Vice Chairman of NASENI, Prof Mohammed Haruna, who stated this in Abuja said the agency is now better positioned to drive its mandate with the recent approvals.

He said the “presidential approval for the establishment of New NASENI Development Institutes and six agricultural zonal institutes across the country is targeted at actualization of the agency’s Skill Acquisition Training and Youth Empowerment Programme across the geo-political zones in Nigeria.
“Also, the approval of the implementation by President Muhammadu Buhari and the National Economic Council of one per cent statutory fund of NASENI which before now was not implemented for a period of 30 years will serve as a catalyst in driving Nigeria’s infrastructural growth,” he said.
Speaking further, he noted the agency as part of the mandate to promote local content growth in the country is already in partnership with other foreign companies in establishing manufacturing plants in the country.
