Ohiare said in a statement that he would do his best to bring many developmental projects to his senatorial district in the next four years that he will be at the Red Chamber. He said he would work with other senators-elect to ensure that laws that would improve and better the living standard of his people are enacted.
He added that the introduction of card readers by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) enabled the electorate to vote for the candidates of their choice during the just concluded elections.
He said democracy must be centred on the people and freedom from oppression.
Ohiare urged the commission to configure the card readers to adapt to the network in states, saying some states are still on 2G while others are on 3G network coverage. He also commended security agents in the state for ensuring that elections were peaceful and free of violence, calling on co-contestants to support the new wind of change for the advancement of Kogi Central and the state in general.
