The National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) produced over 120 statistical reports so far in 2020 despite COVID-19, which disrupted economic and other human activities,.
The Statistician General of the federation, Dr. Yemi Kale said NBS resolved to keep producing data for the country despite the meagre budget for data gathering, which was later worsened by the pandemic.
Speaking at the annual National Consultative Committee on Statistics (NCCS) Meeting held in Akwanga, Nasarawa State, recently.
Kale revealed that plans were underway to undertake the National Agriculture Sample Census in early 2021.
The NBS boss added that at the end of the Committee meeting, it is expected to develop strategies in ensuring uniform standards among agencies as well as improving the quality of statistical output.
He called for synergy among the statistics bureaux in states to ensure timely delivery of essential statistical reports used for critical policy formulations.
