“Many pessimists seem to suggest that we have not achieved much as a country but as a matter of opinion, I think the last 10 years have recorded tremendous achievements at both the federal, state and local government levels,” Wamakko said.
He said the achievements are so evident that no matter what opinion one holds, he or she must admit that the quality of our universities and the expenditures for these institutions universities over the last 10 years are enough for Nigerians to be grateful about.
“If you look at rural roads, we have much to thank God for. If you look at the improvement in healthcare institutions across the nation, we have much to celebrate. If you also look at the agricultural sector, we have every cause to celebrate our democracy,” he said.
Wamakko who stated this in Sokoto to mark his one year anniversary in office, added that, “I didn’t list the whole achievements so far, but I am only making a few references at what to look back and say Thank God, we have made some progress.”
Speaking on his achievements in Sokoto, Wamakko said progress have been recorded in the areas of education ,health, youth empowerment, agriculture, among others, adding, “I am confident that as a people, we are determined to make Sokoto better, and better and better, to be able to compete with any other state of the federation and even beyond.”
