In a statement, they said: “We feel your pains and disappointment of the postponed election. We feel the pains of the money you spent coming to Delta State to vote.

“We wear the shoes. We understand your enthusiasm to make your votes count and the willingness to come and vote again. This is why we have decided to provide 15 Delta Line vehicles to bring eligible voters free of charge to Delta State for the election.”

The statement said the gesture did not seek to influence voters’ choice of candidates. Arrangements for the return journey on Sunday will be communicated on Saturday evening, the statement added.
