The Chief of Defence Staff, Gen. Christopher Musa, on Monday charged all the newly promoted senior officers of Nigerian Navy and Army to make 2025 a decisive year in the fight against banditry, terrorism and oil thieves.
The military chief, who stated this shortly after the officers’ decorations to the new enviable ranks, said it is high time the armed forces decisively tackled the scourge, which he said has plagued the country for the past 15 years.
The boards of Nigerian Navy, Army and Air Force had last Thursday announced the promotion of 306 senior officers in the three services after thorough screening.
On his part, the Chief of Army Staff, Lt. Gen. Olufemi Oluyede, reminded the newly promoted Major Generals that higher ranks come with greater responsibilities.
