A Reconciliation Committee under the Motion Pictures Practitioners Association of Nigeria (MOPPAN) has reconciled two top Kannywood actors, Ali Nuhu and Adam Zango.
The committee was chaired by Salisu Mu’azu Jos with Chairman, Board of Trustees, MOPPAN, Abdulkareem Mohammed; National Chairman, MOPPAN, Abdullahi Maikano; Abdullahi Baba Qarami and Sani Real Love among others as members.
Kannywood actor and director Nuhu had sued Zango before Shari’a Court of Fagge in Kano over alleged defamation and assassination of character.
The actors were to appear before the court at 8:30am on Monday 15th April, 2019.
But the reconciliation committee waded into action and reconciled the warring parties.
Daily Trust learnt the relationship between the filmmakers turned sour when Zango refused to celebrate Ali Nuhu when he was awarded a Doctorate Degree in October, 2018 in Togo.
It further deteriorated when Zango refused to celebrate Ali Nuhu when he marked his 45th birthday, 20th anniversary in Kannywood and 16th wedding anniversary.
A source told Daily Trust that Nuhu’s boys complained about Zango’s refusal to celebrate their boss, who brought him (Zango) into Kannywood about 18 years ago.
“We don’t know what happened last week but Zango insulted the late mother of Ali Nuhu and said a lot of negative things against him on Instagram, which prompted Nuhu to take the matter to court,” a source told Daily Trust.
But speaking with Daily Trust after the reconciliation, the Chairman of the Committee, Salisu Mu’azu Jos said the meeting yielded a positive result as it didn’t only reconcile the duo, but also addressed the root cause of their brawl.
“They (Ali and Zango) have appeared before our committee, they stated all their grievances, from what they have said, we found out they were played by their boys. We reconciled them at the end and we have now addressed the root cause of their brawl.
“Ali Nuhu told us he would withdraw the charges from the court against Zango, and Zango apologized to Ali and he forgave him,” he said.
