Osinbajo, represented by the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, Folasade Yemi-Esan, said states that had conscious efforts and strategic planning were key in the quest to deepen the practice of sound corporate governance.
He said: “In this direction, the Institute of Directors must remain proactive and at the forefront of promoting effective governance through the mentorship and building of the capacity of younger talents.”
President and Chairman, Governing Council, IoD Nigeria, Dr Ije Jidenma, said a young directors’ forum was created so that the young ones in building capacity could be mentored by older directors in terms of the way to go about their businesses.
Earlier, Chairman, BUA Group and chairman of the conference, Alhaji Abdul Samad Rabiu, highlighted the passion, drive and ability of young Nigerians against all odds to create new industries in areas previously considered as non-lucrative and expand services in various sectors of the economy using technology.
