Decongestion: Kano chief justice frees 37 inmates 

The Kano state Chief judge, Justice Nura Sagir Umar has released 37 inmates from correctional centres in the state as part of decongestion efforts  championed by the federal government.
A statement by the spokesman of the state custodial command DSC musbahu Lawal said those freed where urged be of good behavior and to make good use of the opportunity given to them to engage themselves in productive ventures instead of crime.
N2000 was equally given to each of the released inmates as transport fare to enable them return to their respective houses.
On his part, the Controller of Correctional Service in the state , Suleiman Suleiman represented by the Deputy Controller of Corrections in charge of Medium Security Custodial Center Kano, Yunusa Lawan, urged the released inmates to restrain themselves from any misconduct and to be law abiding citizens and to engage themselves in a productive venture which can bring development to the state and the nation at large.
