Debate: Abduljabbar failed to address questions raised, says judge

The Kano government had organised the debate over some controversial claims Abduljabbar makes while preaching.

Professor Salisu Shehu, judge of the debate between Kano-based Islamic cleric, Sheikh Abuljabbar Nasiru Kabara, and other Islamic scholars, has said the controversial sheik did not address issues raised during the debate.

The Kano government had organised the debate over some controversial claims of Abduljabbar.

After listening to both sides at the debate, the judge declared that all the questions directed to Abduljabbar were not answered.

He said the sheikh derailed from the pattern that was agreed upon ahead of the debate.

“Mallam Abdujabbar kept dodging all the questions raised without giving answers to them. He also claimed that there was need for him to be given enough time to answer each question while in actual sense he was the one who jumped from one issue to another.

“However, when a question was raised and he was requested to provide reference from his books, he would complain that there is not enough time for that,” said the judge.

On his part, Sheikh Abduljabbar claimed that the guidelines were not stated before the debate.
