A resident, Mustapha Saadu, said around 7 am, they heard the explosions from Zurmi town, and after every sound, building structures were shaken, threatening to blow off the rooftops.
“Thereafter, the sound of the explosions ceased.
“We got set and went to our farms, and around 9 am, we began to hear more of the sounds of the explosions.
“We heard the sound of a fighter jet hovering around the area.
“We became highly terrified and hurriedly left our farms alongside dozens of other farmers.
“We suspect that it might be an aerial bombardment of bandits’ locations around the area by the Nigerian Airforce,” he said.
