Nigerian singer, David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, on Wednesday received over N120m in cash transfers within 24 hours, after asking colleagues for N1m.
He had earlier posted a video on his Instagram Story calling on those he had helped in the industry to send him N1m.
He had called out fellow artists like Mayorkun, Perruzzi, Dremo, Focalistic, Don Jazzy and others.
“We rise by lifting others abi? Me I don dey rise dey lifting others for the past 100 years. So I want to know who my friends are. All of my friends one one million naira. They said we are 30BG. If you don’t send your own, you out of here, you are gone.”
He later posted credit alerts received in his bank account from celebrities who had answered his request.
As of the time of filing this report, Davido had raked in N122m.
He thanked those who credited his account, including Femi Otedola, His Royal Highness Elegushi, Akin Alabi, Emeka Okonkwo, Mr Eazi, Teni, Ikorodu boiz, Obi Cubana, Cubana chief priest.
Davido also stated that Wema Bank had called him for a meeting.
