Minister of Transport, Mr Rotimi Amaechi has disclosed that the construction work of the Chinese-assisted University of Transportation, Daura, will commence in September, this year.
Mr Amaechi disclosed this when he paid a courtesy call on Governor Aminu Bello Masari at government house, Katsina.
The minister expressed gratitude to the governor for the provision of land for the project, saying that the contractors were currently clearing and building the fence of the university.
The project, he said, was a donation by the Government of China through the Chinese Civil Engineering Construction Company (CCECC), adding that the government had made a request for the CCECC to include a primary and secondary school in the project.
He said a team from the federal ministry of transport had accepted to do the consultancy work on the project.
In his remarks, Governor Masari expressed appreciation to the federal ministry of transport for locating the university in Daura.
