Taraba State Governor Darius Dickson Ishaku has urged the people to eschew violence and promote peace as fundamental ingredient for achieving sustainable development.
Darius, in a release issued yesterday by his Chief Press Secretary, Malam Hassan Mijinyawa, said he was happy that normalcy had been restored in Mambilla Plateau and he would ensure sustenance of peace in the area.
He said security surveillance had been heightened and traditional rulers were also on the alert to monitor suspicious elements.
Darius said relief materials had already been distributed to the affected communities and the State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA) officials were on their way with additional relief items.
He called on the victims of the crisis to access the materials at the designated places, adding that peace is a collective responsibility that requires all hands to be on deck.
