The Parents Association of Dapchi abducted schoolgirls has setup a team of four parents that would represent them ahead of President Muhammadu Buhari’s visit to Yobe on Wednesday.
Chairman of the association, Alhaji Bashir Manzo, disclosed this to Daily Trust on Tuesday, in Damaturu.
He said the team, which was made up of two men and women was formed based on directives from top government officials in the state.
"We have selected those that would meet the president in Damaturu and speak on our behalf. They are team of four: 2 men and 2 women as demanded by top government officials", he said.
Manzo noted that the federal government option of negotiation to rescue their abducted children was a best step taken to return them safely.
"None of us is comfortable that the use of military force would be possible without some casualties. This has renewed our hope that President Buhari’s administration is doing its best to ensure that our children returns home safely", he said.
Meanwhile, security has been beef up at August 27 stadium where the president is expected to land in Damaturu for the one day visit on tomorrow.
