The Katsina state Commissioner of Sports and Social Development, Alhaji Sani Aliyu Danlami has dedicated the first away win for Katsina United in the ongoing Nigeria Professional League (NPFL) season to Governor Aminu Bello Masari.
Danlami who congratulated the team shortly after the game which was held on Wednesday at Ahmadu Bello Stadium Kaduna, the adopted home of Jigawa Golden Starsa, said the governor’s commitment to sports is already bearing good fruits.
The Commissioner reiterated that the recent victories recorded in sports in the state, particularly the victory over Akwa United and Jigawa Golden Stars by Katsina United are feats made possible by the unflinching support from Masari.
“Akwa United had won 18 games undefeated but we were able to end that unbeaten record. This is to tell you that the investment of His Excellency, Governor Masari in sports is yielding results,” he said.
In addition, Danlami said the impressive performances of Katsina United is what led to the selection of an influential player in the team, Abdulmutalif Sanusi to feature for the Super Eagles in Saturday’s international friendly with Mexico in the USA.
While urging the players to redouble their efforts in order to take the club to the next level, the Commissioner commended Governor Masari for his unrelenting support and investment in the club.
At the same time, he sought more support from the government to enable the state-owned football club to record more achievements.
The Commissioner also appreciated the commitment of the management, supporters and all stakeholders for their unwavering support to the club.
