Gombe State governor, Ibrahim Hassan Dankwambo, said the government has spent N5.2 billion on the provision of portable water to the people of the state.
Dankwambo stated this when he received the new vice chancellor of the Federal University, Kashere (FUK), Professor Alhassan Mohammed Ghani.
He said: “In Gombe State we will continue to make education our number one priority, number two priority and number three priority. Education is something that politicians are running away from because these are not visible. Like I always go out to see the water pipeline in Gombe, I spent N5.2 billion in the provision of water but everything is buried in the ground; you don’t see it.”
He advised the university to submit a proposal that would capture areas on youth’s entrepreneurship development and agriculture to enable the state and the university partner.
