A former governor of Gombe State, Senator Ibrahim Hassan Dankwambo, has written to the state government seeking the suspension of his monthly pension and other allowances as enjoyed by former governors of the state.
In a letter addressed to Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya dated October 4, 2023 and obtained yesterday by Daily Trust, the former governor, who left office in May 2019, requested that the payment be put on hold.
Dankwambo, who is representing Gombe North Senatorial District, said he took the decision after interacting with civil society organisations (CSOs), integrity institutions, friends and associates.
The senator also pledged to make a refund as appropriate.
