He was received at the Lawanti Airport by supporters, members of the PDP and three of the gubernatorial aspirants under the party, who accompanied him from the airport to the party secretariat at the heart of Gombe metropolis.
Speaking to newsmen shortly after his arrival, Dankwambo said he would spend days in the state to interact with his people in order to assess the performance of the All Progressives Congress (APC) administration in the areas of security, projects and human development.
Dankwambo added that he would consult widely with his political associates before deciding to contest for any elective position in the 2023 general elections.
He called on members of the PDP to be law-abiding in their politicking ahead of the forthcoming elections.
The two-term governor contested for the Senate seat in 2019, but lost to the incumbent, Senator Saidu Ahmed Alkali.
