Alhaji Manir Dan’Iya has emerged the new Deputy Governor of Sokoto state following the confirmation of his appointment by the state House of Assembly.
Governor Aminu Tambuwal had nominated Dan’Iya for the position in a letter presented at the Assembly on Wednesday.
The confirmation of the appointment on Thursday followed a motion by Deputy Majority Leader, Ibrahim Arzika Sarki, (PDP-Sokoto North II) at the plenary presided over by Speaker Alhaji Salihu Maidaji.

Sarki described Dan’Iya an astute politician with an impressive grassroots appeal.
“He will bring his experience to bear in the governance and overall development of the state,” he pointed out.
The House unanimously adopted the motion.
