The defection was announced at a rally held at the party secretariat attended by leaders of the three major factions. Top members of the party at the national level were absent.
The “Unification Rally” also attended by the faction led by Prince Buriji Kashamu, Jubril Martins Kuye and Dimeji Bankole. Former president, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo’s faction, it was gathered, had already merged with that of Bankole.
Daniel at the event said it was a signal to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) government in the state that they should get ready to leave office because the PDP would form the next government.
He faulted the APC government on its policies on education and infrastructure development and accused it of reckless spending, alleging that it had, within the past three years, borrowed about N200 million.
Daniel assured workers in the state a PDP government would be worker-friendly. Chairman of the Organisation and Mobilisation Committee in the South West, Prince Buriji Kashamu, assured that the party’s umbrella was big enough to accommodate everyone.
PDP National Chairman, Alhaji Adamu Mu’azu, was represented by the National Auditor, Alhaji Fatai Adewale Adeyanju.
