The Gboko plant in Benue State of the Dangote Cement at the weekend donated foodstuff and other essential materials to vulnerable people in its host community, Mbayion, in LGA.
Our correspondent reports that the gesture was part of the company’s activities to mark its annual sustainability week for 2023.
The company visited the NKST Orphanage in Mkar and the Juvenile Correctional Centre in Ubangaji, all in Gboko LGA.
Earlier in the week, the host community expressed excitement over the medical outreach brought to their doorstep.

The Tyoor of Mbayion, Igba Tsegba, who expressed appreciation to the company on behalf of his people, appealed for a hospital to cater for their health needs.
The royal father, who was represented by the Kindred Head of Mbagar, Zaki Tese Kpough, further appealed to the company to consider employing the youths of the community, many who he said were idle several years after leaving school.
Responding, the Head of Administration and Management of the Gboko plant, Jonathan Kunde, noted that the company was not unaware of the prevailing economic crunch, hence that it was its own way of lending a helping hand.
The Plant Director, Louise Raj, assured the people that the company would look into their demands.
