President of the largest Conglomerate in Africa, Dangote Group of Companies, Alhaji Aliko Dangote, has concluded plans to support the industrialisation plan of Akwa Ibom State, the Managing Director of Ubotex Nigeria Limited, Elder Ubong Bassey Obot, has said.
Obot, speaking Tuesday, after a meeting with Aliko Dangote at the weekend in Uyo, the state capital, however did not mention specific investment the president has planned for the state.
“I met with him not too long ago in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State, and I know that he is planning big  for the state. By the time he unfolds his plans for the state, Akwa Ibom will be great in terms of employment generation and wealth creation.”
He disclosed that Dangote’s visit to the state has crashed the price of cement from N1,700 to N1,500 per bag.
He commended Governor Udom Gabriel Emmanuel for the steps taken to industrialise the state by establishing a Technical Team on Direct Foreign Investment in the state.
However, he lamented that most government establishments failed to endure because of lack of control and supervision, adding: “If you don’t supervise your investment how will it last?”
He called on Akwa Ibom people to support the industrialisation plan of the state government.
